A forum is in store to examine the rapidly developing medical artificial intelligence (AI) and digital therapeutic devices (DTx) fields.

Kakao Healthcare said it would host the “2023 Global Digital Healthcare Symposium” with Yonsei University Health System (YUHS) on Aug. 30. The symposium is designed to share medical AI and DTx research and development achievements and discuss policies and future strategies for commercialization.

Patricia Florish, Technical Director of the Office of the CTO at Google Cloud, and Kakao Healthcare CEO Hwang Hee will present on “Medical Data Solution Development and Global Market Trends Using AI.” Professor Lee Eun of the Department of Psychiatry at Yonsei University College of Medicine will present a case study of the DTx platform in insomnia treatment.

Professor Yoo Seung-chan of the School of Biomedical Systems and Information will discuss vendor-neutral infrastructure for medical AI and DTx deployment.

Visitors can also meet innovative Korean companies leading the AI and DTx market at the on-site promotional booth. These firms will introduce their services and critical technologies to visitors.

Those interested in attending the symposium should register by May 25 at the pre-registration site (forms.gle/H2ocLJMonJGtk9EP7).

"The symposium is designed as a place for Korean and foreign businesses, academicians, research institutes, and hospitals to share information related to medical AI and digital therapeutic devices,” said Kim Hyun-chang, head of the Digital Healthcare Innovation Research Center at YUHS. "We will make it a place for those interested in digital healthcare to exchange information actively."

Kakao Healthcare CEO Hwang said, "In this era of medical digitalization, this symposium will likely be a place to grasp the trend of preparing for future medical care. We hope the workshop will create a healthier digital healthcare ecosystem."
